Save the Family

Some thoughts to ponder…

What is happening to the FAMILY? Marriage rates are taking a free-fall. 53% of eligible men are NOT interested in getting married. Society tries to convince women that motherhood is ‘unfulfilling’ and pressures them into climbing the corporate ladder.

Equality?

Remember when Phyllis Schlafly wrote in the early 70s (“What’s Wrong with ‘Equal Rights’ for Women?”) that women are the most privileged of all classes of people that ever lived?

“We have the most rights and rewards, and the fewest duties,” she said. Amen. Why would we want to give up being on that pedestal?

So Carey Roberts asks the question: Is it Time to Scale Back the Pedestal?

So let’s revisit our modest proposal — is it time to scale back the formidable pedestal that the rad-fems have foisted on us in recent years?

Chivalry certainly has its place, and yes, women sometimes need special protections. But taken too far, chivalry can weaken the bedrock institutions of
free societies and leave supposedly “liberated” women dependent on the neo-paternalism of the Nanny State.

Men and women need to band together in common defense of the family. Time is running short.

Mrs. Schlafly wrote that the Equal Rights Amendment would make women subject to the draft and that married women would lose their rights to support for themselves and their children from their husbands, as well as alimony in the case of divorce.

What have women really gained these past 30 years? And what has it cost the family? And can we honestly say that men are more manly? Is society better off now that many women have relinquished their privileged status of Motherhood?
