Summary of Tomorrow’s Meditation

We will consecrate our meditation of tomorrow to the consideration of six ways in which time is lost, in order that we may be upon our guard against the misfortune of subjecting ourselves to so great a loss. Our resolution shall be: First, never to remain idle, and to occupy ourselves always in something that will be of use in regard to our salvation; Second, to sanctify all our actions, even the most ordinary among them, such as our meals, our recreations, our work, and even our sleep by the pure intention of pleasing God. Our spiritual nosegay shall be the advice given in the Holy Scriptures: Do not allow the smallest particle of the time which God has given you to be lost (Ecclus. 14:14).
