“Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.
They have no fear of God at all.
Painting by Susan Smith
In their blind conceit,
they cannot see how wicked they really are.”
—Psalm 36:1–2
We speak of the “still, small voice of God” deep within that we must listen to. But those without God also hear a whisper in their hearts—the whisper of sin. And they have no way of recognizing it as such until God’s Spirit begins to work. Only God can show people what sin is and point them to his goodness and grace. Left on our own, we cannot see how wicked we really are. Pray that God will open the eyes of your loved ones who don’t know him so they can see both their sin and God’s grace.

I’ve been in the spot, separated from God, and God whispered to me. I am praying that my loved ones will be blessed and able to hear, too. I believe God whispers to everyone. The word “choice” has been around for a long, long time. We decide to choose for good (God) or to to remain listening and believing that evil is the “good”. Open my Heart, for You Alone, oh my God.
