- The Silent generation, people born before 1946..
- The Baby Boomers, people born between 1946 and 1959.
- Generation X, people born between 1960 and 1979.
- Generation Y, people born between 1980 and 1995
Why do we call the last one generation Y? I did not know, but a cartoonist explains it eloquently below…
Learned something new today!

Wow, people are starting to open their eyes. I can remember seeing Brooke Shields roll around on the floor on TV saying, “Nothing comes between me and my Calvin Kleins!” Sadly, my mom went out and bought me a pair to wear to school that week. That plus the comments from guys across the quad, “Nice a–!!!”, gave me the impression that showing off my derrier was a very important part of being a woman. Later I tired of the comments my husband would make when I bent over and shared this with my devoutly Catholic psychiatrist. He looked at me as if I was crazy and said, “But that’s perfectly normal.” It seems that we have returned to level of the natives to whom the missionaries brought the faith. The women were not properly clothed and men were raping them. (This still happens in Africa today.) Along with the faith the priests taught them the famous “Missionary Position” where the man would face his lovely bride during lovemaking. In fact, that is one of the things that differentiates humans from animals. Baboons check out each others backsides before mating and lust is Satan’s way of turning us into animals, but the eyes are the window to the soul!
