Vicki, I’m glad you’ve made the change to skirts and dresses. However, if you get an urge to wear jeans, a good alternative will be jean skirts and jean dresses. There are females who live in colder climates who own ONLY skirts and dresses(and Michigan-born Colleen Hammond has a post, though its name alludes me, that mentions that you can wear thick hosiery when it gets cold enough), so that can be an alternative to sweats.

Julia, your husband is the type of man that makes us guys look good, and you are the type of woman I wish more gals were like. In fact, every time I hear gals make excuses for wearing pants, it’s like they’re saying, “I’d rather be happy than right”. Not only that, any gal who wants to be with me must abstain from wearing pants and shorts.

Thank you Colleen Hammond your book also made me understand modesty! I like Viki only wore skirts to church(I am Byzantine catholic!). On my twelfth b-day I got your book as a gift from my godmother. (Oh and Viki and I are good friends!)

I could not believe it when I read your post! I had almost the same experience! It all started with a girls camp the summer of 2005 and seeing girls hiking and playing sports in skirts. I came home and announced that I wanted to experiment with wearing only skirts. It was that same summer that I discovered Dressing with Dignity! I couldn’t be happier with my decision to wear skirts all the time. In fact, when my husband and I met almost two years later, we found that we had both read Dressing with Dignity, twice!

I just finished your book Dressing with Dignity. I loved it. I agree with this young girls comments. We have a great responsibility as women in how we dress.
