Good Girls Don’t Have to Dress Bad: A Style Guide for Every Woman
What are the major themes of the book?
It is a guide for women to know exactly how to dress, how to make up their face, what eye frames, hairstyle, jeans, and swimsuit they should buy all based on their individual body shape and coloring. There’s even a shopping guide available that tells women exactly what style and brand of clothes to buy based on their budget and their clothing personality, which they identify in the book. Modesty is an overall theme, and understanding that you are beautiful exactly the way you are, no matter your size, is a major theme throughout. It is also full of pictures with real women of all shapes and sizes and is a full color book for only $14.99. We’ve become a society of women who wear what the salespeople in the stores tells us to wear, and for the most part, most salespeople are uneducated in knowing about colors and body shapes for an individual. If black is in style, the salespeople insist it will work for you, even if it doesn’t. They just want to sell clothes, and you can’t blame them, because they haven’t been trained. This book will give a woman complete confidence in knowing what works for HER and even gives checklists as to what she should have in her closet.

Dear Colleen, Thanks for the reference to the book, “Good Girls Don’t Have To Dress Bad.” We need that at U. D.!
Yes, I’ve been to UD, Fr. Maguire…I AGREE!!!!!!
Colleen, what order does Father Maguire belong to to(I don’t know whatO, Cist. stands for. Also, judging by what he says, I’ll recommend him to lead a diocese when I write to our nuncio to recommend candidates for bishop.
Thank you Colleen for featuring my book. It looks like you know alot about this same subject! I appreciate you. By the way, you are stunning!
It looks like a fabulous book, Shari!!! I was working on one similar as a follow-up to “Dressing with Dignity”…but it looks like you’ve already written one! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t find it at my library or through inter-library loan so I put in a purchase request. I hope they buy it! Thank you Colleen.
I ran across the same problem, Maureen…!!!

If what little I know is any indication, “Good Girls Don’t Have To Dree Bad” has the makings of a more than good seller. And, contrary to what many are willing to accept, being a girl and dressing like a boy is just as bad as skimpy attire. In fact, a few years ago on”Maury”, a woman was on as a guest because she wanted her tomboyish daughter to get a makeover(the daughter was so masculine in appearance GIRLS were asking her out….thinking she was a boy).
When I get enough money, I will try to purchase “Good Girls Don’t Have To Dress Bad”. Also as an unabashed fan of “Dressing with Dignity”, Colleen, since she lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, could have Bishops Vann and Farrell read it. That way, they can institute a dress code in their dioceses. Also, I, who sing and write songs, wrote a song three years ago as my way of saying “good job” to those females who dress like LADIES.
Shari Braendel has written a good book(although I have yet to see a copy up close and personal). My only complaint is that it, from what I’ve read in this post, does treat pants on females like they aren’t totally bad, even though they are(apropos of what was said about jeans, a female, instead of wearing jeans, can wear an appropriate-length jean skirt).
