The scandals have just turned into an excuse for some Catholics to ignore anything they don’t like. What they need to think about is what God wants.

Marcy, you said it as well as it can be said! Of course, no one accuses Baptists, Muslims, atheists, Mormons, or other non-Catholics of hypocrisy, even if such charges are true beyond the shadow of a doubt.

If the church is battling scandals, now is not the time to start relaxing on all other forms of virtue/modesty (actually, there is never a good reason or time to let go of virtue/modesty, though many will try…).
Whenever a female journalist visits a country where women are required to be covered up and wear a head covering, they don’t flaunt their opposition to it. Female t.v. reporters are always seen properly clothed according to the norms of the area when broadcasting from these places.

If a non-Catholic house of worship instituted a dress code, even one on the Pharasee-like side, the same people calling the Vatican hypocrites would be silent, or saying “good job”. In fact, all this is is anti-Catholicism, plain and simple. Catholic-bashers will stop at nothing.
