My thoughts? Remember Arianism? It boiled down to one iota: Homoiousia or Homoousia. Arius taught that Jesus’ divinity was SIMILAR to God. The Catholic Faith teaches us that Jesus’ divinity is the SAME as God’s.
If an entire heresy sprouted from one letter (the iota), why would Catholics stand for having a Catechism in print that is murky, ambiguous, and contains doctrinal error?
“As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.” Galatians 1:9
Highlights:
Objection #1: YOUCAT insinuates that The Holy Bible contains errors.
Objection #2: YOUCAT gives confusing catechesis on human sexuality and end of life issues.
Objection #3: YOUCAT alleges that Genesis does not give a true account of creation.
Objection #4: YOUCAT Places greater weight on modern scientific speculation than on the Church Fathers’ unanimous interpretations of the first chapters of Genesis.
Objection #5: YOUCAT teaches that God made an incomplete world filled with defects and deformities.
Objection #6: YOUCAT can give the impression that modern Catholic and non-Catholic authors are more important for young people to read than the Fathers and Doctors of the Church.

Holy Father,
We respectfully ask that you re-examine the YouCat (youth catechism) in light of the clear doctrinal errors and misleading information contained therein, as explained in the attached critique by Maximos and Anastasios. Since the document even includes the heretical position that Scripture contains errors, we ask that you urgently recall the YouCat and replace it with your Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church before World Youth Day 2011 takes place in Madrid, August 16-21. Your Compendium is an excellent short summary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and is free from the serious defects of YouCat set forth in the attached critique.
