US Bishops: No Guns for Catholics?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, individuals have a right and a duty to protect their own lives when in danger, and someone who “defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow.” Yet, the bishops (and even the Pope?) are saying that “firearms in the hands of civilians should be strictly limited and eventually completely eliminated.” Say, what…?!?!?

Ideas for the Feast of St. Nicholas (Dec 6th)
During the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea (AD 325), Arius was called upon to defend his position on the inferiority of Christ. Saint Nicholas just couldn’t listen to all of Arius’ nonsense and so he stood up and laid in to Arius with his fist.

Dec 4th: St. Barbara’s Branches (Barbarazweige)
Various legends surrounding St. Barbara were attached to flowering branches. One is that flowers blossomed upon her grave on Christmas day; another that, imprisoned in a tower awaiting martyrdom, St. Barbara found a dried up cherry tree branch which she watered and which bloomed, thus bringing her consolation before her martyrdom.
