Irish “Catholics” and How it Reflects ALL Catholics Worldwide
“Many outside of Ireland still believe that Ireland is a bastion of traditional Catholicism,” Archbishop Martin said. “They are surprised to discover that there are parishes in Dublin where the presence at Sunday Mass is some five percent of the Catholic population and, in some cases, even below two percent. On any particular Sunday about 18 percent of the Catholic population in the Archdiocese of Dublin attends Mass.”

The “Hook-Up” Culture on Catholic Campuses: A Review of the Literature
Findings revealed that for both females and males, church attendance was negatively related to some forms of hooking-up behaviors (the more frequent the church attendance, the less frequent the hooking-up behavior), but religious feeling was only significant in reducing hooking-up behavior for males. For females, the emotional attachment to religion had little impact on their decision to participate in hooking-up behaviors.
